The 6th-generation iPad Pro 12.9 (2022) was the last 12.9-inch iPad Pro before Apple moved to the 13-inch OLED models. It pairs the M2 chip with the same Liquid Retina XDR mini-LED display as the 2021 model — 2,596 local dimming zones, up to 1,600 nits peak HDR brightness and ProMotion 120Hz — and added Apple Pencil hover and Wi-Fi 6E.
Face ID, the Thunderbolt / USB 4 port and the 12MP Ultra Wide front camera with Center Stage are all unaffected by a display change. As with the Gen 5, some blooming on black backgrounds is normal for mini-LED; dark zones or lines are not.
