A1708 is the 13-inch MacBook Pro with two Thunderbolt 3 ports and no Touch Bar, released in late 2016 and updated in 2017. It has a 13.3-inch Retina display at 2560×1600 with 500 nits brightness and P3 wide colour (True Tone only arrived on later models).
Besides cracked glass, this generation is known for the “stage light” backlight fault, where uneven bright patches appear along the bottom of the screen; Apple ran a Display Backlight Service Program for affected 2016 13-inch models. A new display assembly fixes both cracks and backlight failure.
