The iPhone 15 Plus arrived in September 2023 with USB-C in place of Lightning. On the non-Pro 15 models the port runs at USB 2 speeds (up to 480Mb/s), and it can also charge AirPods or an Apple Watch from the phone. The 6.7-inch Plus also supports MagSafe wireless charging, which helps tell a port fault from a battery fault.
