About the MacBook Pro 16″ A2991 M3 Pro/Max Screen
The A2991 is the 16-inch MacBook Pro released in November 2023 with M3 Pro or M3 Max chips. Its 16.2-inch Liquid Retina XDR display (3456 x 2234) uses mini-LED backlighting, with 1000 nits sustained and 1600 nits peak HDR brightness, up to 600 nits for SDR content, and ProMotion up to 120Hz.
Mini-LED screens can show a faint glow (blooming) around bright objects on a dark background — that is normal. Cracks, vertical lines, dark patches or a backlight that won’t come on are the faults that need a replacement. Check the underside for “A2991” before booking.
