Face ID lives in the TrueDepth camera above the panel rather than in the screen itself, so it keeps working after a screen swap.
Because a replacement panel is not an Apple original, iOS will show a notice that it cannot verify a genuine Apple display, listed under Settings > General > About > Parts and Service History. Your touch, Face ID and data are not affected by the notice itself.
