About the iPad Air 5 Battery
Apple released the iPad Air 5 in March 2022 (model A2588 for Wi-Fi; A2589 and A2591 for cellular with 5G). It combines the M1 chip with a 10.9-inch 2360×1640 Liquid Retina display, Touch ID in the top button, USB-C, a 12MP ultra-wide front camera with Center Stage and Apple Pencil (2nd generation) support.
Its built-in battery is rated at 28.6 Wh, the same size as the iPad Air 4’s. After a few years, shorter runtime, slow charging and unexpected shutdowns are the usual signs. The screen is glued to the chassis, so it is carefully removed for the battery swap and re-sealed afterwards.
