Apple launched the iPad 9th generation in September 2021 (model A2602 for Wi-Fi; A2603, A2604 and A2605 for cellular). It has a 10.2-inch 2160×1620 Retina display with True Tone, the A13 Bionic chip, a Touch ID home button, a Lightning port and a 12MP front camera with Center Stage.
Its built-in battery is rated at 32.4 Wh. Heavy daily use for lessons and video means many units now drain quickly or switch off before reaching 0%. As on other iPads, the screen is glued down, so it is lifted carefully to reach the battery and re-sealed afterwards.
