Integrated vs Dedicated Graphics
The single decision that separates a $450 office PC from a $700+ gaming PC.
Integrated graphics is built into the CPU (e.g. Ryzen 5 5600G) — it shares system RAM, handles Windows, Office, video calls, streaming video, and light games like esports titles at low settings. Dedicated graphics is a separate card (RTX 3060, 3070…) with its own VRAM and cooling — required for real gaming, 3D work, CAD, and video editing. Deciding which you need before buying saves either $300+ (skip the card) or a painful upgrade later (buy it upfront).
