Redmi Repair Singapore — What You Need to Know

Everything about Redmi phones, their display types, battery specs and what to expect from a repair in Singapore.

What is Redmi?

Redmi is a sub-brand of Xiaomi, launched in 2013 as a budget smartphone line and spun into its own brand in 2019. In Singapore, Redmi is one of the most popular Android brands for value-conscious buyers — offering large AMOLED displays, long battery life and competitive specs at affordable prices. The Redmi Note series in particular is widely used across Singapore schools, offices and households.

Redmi vs Xiaomi — What’s the Difference?

Redmi and Xiaomi are both made by the same company. Redmi focuses on value and budget-to-mid-range devices, while Xiaomi’s main line (Xiaomi 14, 13 etc.) targets the premium and flagship segment. Both run MIUI (now HyperOS) and share the same service infrastructure — parts and repair expertise for one transfers to the other.

Redmi Display Types

AMOLED (Note Pro models)
Redmi Note Pro and higher models use AMOLED — vivid colours, deep blacks, 120Hz refresh rate and in-display fingerprint sensor on newer models.
IPS LCD (standard Note, budget)
Standard Redmi Note and lower models use IPS LCD — good brightness, side-mounted fingerprint sensor. Cheaper to replace than AMOLED.

Redmi Battery — Fast Charging Specs

Redmi phones use Xiaomi’s fast charging ecosystem — ranging from 33W on budget models up to 120W HyperCharge on the Note 13 Pro+. When replacing a Redmi battery, the replacement must match your model’s fast charging spec to maintain the original charging speed. Our Grade A batteries support each model’s original fast charging standard.

Redmi’s large 5,000mAh batteries are a key selling point. Even with a large capacity, batteries degrade over 2–3 years of daily charging and should be replaced when capacity drops noticeably.

Common Redmi Repair Questions

How long does a Redmi screen replacement take?

Most Redmi Note screen replacements take 45–60 minutes. AMOLED Pro models take slightly longer due to the in-display fingerprint assembly.

Will the in-display fingerprint sensor work after a screen replacement?

Yes — on AMOLED models with in-display fingerprint sensors, Grade A panels preserve full fingerprint sensor functionality. You may need to re-register your fingerprints after the repair.

Is Redmi the same as Xiaomi?

Redmi is a sub-brand of Xiaomi. They share the same parent company, software (HyperOS/MIUI) and service ecosystem. Redmi focuses on value and mid-range, Xiaomi’s main line targets premium.

Are Redmi spare parts available in Singapore?

Yes — parts for Redmi Note models from the Note 10 series onwards are widely available in Singapore. Older models may require a few days to source.
